Most of the village will know by now that our beloved Poppy is still missing. She is our 'feline' child, and has helped us through a very difficult period in our lives. We are totally devastated and heartbroken. We are offering a REWARD for any information that leads to her safe return.
She disappeared on Wednesday 14th of March from the Lord Nelson end of Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton area somewhere between 5pm and 9pm. So far we have delivered nearly 1300 leaflets in the village, asking people to thoroughly check their garages/sheds/other outbuildings and inside the house. We urge you please to check AGAIN and call out her name. We have also put up posters around the village, and will continue to renew them to keep her current in people's minds until we find her.
She's a burmese cat, very friendly and notorious for getting into vehicles. It is possible she may have got transported elsewhere, and we are not naive......being a distinctive cat, we know she may have been stolen. She is microchipped and spayed so cannot be used for breeding.
Have you seen her? Did you have any sort of delivery, works being done, or visitor the evening of the 14th of March where she may have got into a vehicle? Did you see anyone suspicious walking off with her? Has someone innocently or deliberately taken her in? We hate to think this, but unfortunately it is a possibility we can't rule out. York City Council have confirmed there were no roadkills reported.
We have had several calls about a siamese cat with a white/cream colour body and dark face - mistaken for Poppy. Poppy has a light brown/caramel colour body, and slightly darker face. Before she disappeared she had a pink heart shaped tag (exactly as in the photo), but the collar was a reflective white with pink pattern (not the one in the photo).
